It's 7:36 am and already 72 degrees
It is HOT. I mean really hot. The kind of hot where just getting out of the car feels like an oppressive blanket is placed on your body as you move towards the store. The kind of hot where you give yout toddler a cup of ice water so she has something to cool her in the back of the car as the air conditioner gets going. The kind of hot where you burn your feet on the back deck when you gingerly step on a nail head at 4pm. It's so stinking hot...I am out of here.
Tomorrow we are leaving for the desert to see my dad. We're packing up the car and heading to cooler pastures! Although I am excited to see my dad, my dear husband is going "man-camping" with his buddies for five days and I will have the girl to myself, a road trip and I'm 8.5 months pregnant. So, I can imagine this might be a very long five days. But, I can't NOT go, because of those reasons. I can't imagine staying home, alone, with a heat wave and no one to talk to but other bloggers. In fact, it's so hot it's almost not worth it to leave the house for a water park. There is a new one near our house I heard, above the local elementary school. I love those designs because I think they are safer then a swimming pool, you don't need a swimsuit to play in it with your kids and their designed with safety in mind. Many kids can get in the water and cool off without it getting crowded and no one ever gets "dived" on by another kid. So I like them a lot. But it's too hot to even pack up the car and go do that, frankly. When it's 107 like yesterday, why leave the house? Break out the crayons, do laundry and watch a lot of videos.
So, we're going to eat some breakfast and then get out to clean the car, get the oil changed, and maybe get a few new toys for the car ride tomorrow. It's a long trip...and I need a few tricks up my sleeve to get there. Now, hopefully I can get enough little water trays for my plants. I don't want them to die off while I am gone...it's just that it's SO BLASTED HOT!
Have a cool day.
