Summer
Father's Day was great for my man and for once I really liked it too. We started the day with the Dangerous Book for Boys- an instant hit. Then we followed that with 2 months of lawn care during the hottest and busiest months of the year for him...another good present. Then church, I started the ribs, husband had a relaxing naptime, and then we went to my sister in law's house for a picnic. We served the boys ribs, potato salad, chips and beer while they watched golf in the garage and then we played with kids for a few hours to let the boys have manly man time. It was really fun to sit back and relax with the kiddos. Right as we went to leave, the toddlers wanted to splash their hands in the little pool out back. It's one of those fill-er-up with a hose ones with a small slide. It's perfect for toddlers. My husband let his nephew get in so it seemd mean to not let our girl get in too. So we let her get in with all her clothes (since they were already soaked) then we dispensed with everything and let the kids play at will. It was a riot! Our girl laughed so hard when her cousin went down the slide into the pool that all the adults came outside to hear what the laughter was about. We were dying...with laughter. It was so fun to watch her enjoy that time. We left the little ones in the pool until they got shaky with cold and then we took our girl home for a warm bath and some dinner. It was a great day.
