No, I Didn't Fall Off the Earth

I have TRIED to blog this past week, but everytime I sit down, the internet connection goes out. Between our crummy Charter service and our lousy wireless router/access point- we could hardly check e-mail. But my smarty husband installed a new part and we're off and running.
These past weeks have been highs and lows-mostly due to the pregnancy I think. I have days where I know I am being a psycho, but all I can do is pray and eat protein. I can tell I am being a bad mommy, but it's like I am at the mercy of my hormones that make me feel all sorts of illogical ways. I often have to tell myself "This is the pregnancy, you are not this way all the time. This will pass." That is usually followed by an apology to my little girl for being mean and then some outside time to let her explore the yard-her favorite activity during the day.
I had a great birthday where we went to a fabulous restaurant in another town and I had the best chicken of my life. Seriously. I also had some lavendar lemonade. That was that good. It was all very fresh food since the restaurant is actually a farm that grows it's own food and has a dedicated chef. The food was awesome and it was like it was cooked just for me. I've never had that expereince before where it was like they knew me and how I liked vegetables, and polenta and chicken. It was good. Thankfully we got there before the wedding party and the place got a little crazy with excited wedding guests.
For my birthday present my hubby wrote me the best card ever. Inside he wrote about how he wonders about my mom and how much I remember about my parents since they both died (my stepfather who raised me is still alive, thankfully!) and if my memories of them are fading. So in response he had the rosewood box I inherited sent off to a refinisher to use as a keepsake box. I .could. not. believe. how. thoughtful. that. was. What a man. So glad I married him. And he's good looking. You should see him in shorts...wow.
Also my in laws gave me "family work day" as my present. It's where your siblings come over for about 4-5 hours and work like dogs to help you get things done at your house. We're choosing to do things in our back yard since it needs the most help. We had no idea what an outdoorsy kind of girl we had until these past months. She loves being outside and thankfully we have enough shade in the lower part of the yard where she can play that I don't freak out about the sun. So we're tearing an area out for more grass, we're moving the last of the vegetable garden, moving the last of the roses to the rose garden and also spreading gravel on our side yard to finish. I think we'll actually need of one those bobcat things to move all the earth, so we need a few weeks to locate all the pipes and lines in the ground and get materials delivered to our house. I am SO EXCITED. I love gardening, but with a very little one, no side yard fence and a growing frontside, I cannot get a lot done out there. Not that I don't fantasize about it though. I love gardening...I really do.
