No mention of cats

DH said I shouln't talk about the feline issues for a while. So, ok.

We had quite the weekend where we were everywhere! We went to Dh's softball game Thursday night, we had a major steak dinner on Friday nght after our girl crashed for the night. Then on Saturday Dh had a golf tourney, we had lots to clean, the aforementioned post issues occured and then DH had another rehearsal early evening. At the very last minute we decided to go out to the awards ceremony for the golf tourney (which meant I didn't have to cook dinner). Then I got the call I had to drive back in for a last minute concert at the church that needed video taping.

So the video was for the Peace choir from around these parts. It was comprised of about 100 (or more) adults of all ages who all wear white and sing songs about peace. So as they were walking around after the sound checks waiting for the concert to start I couldn't help thinking I was on the set of movie extras who were all cast as members of heaven. It was a little weird frankly. Then as I looked around the sanctuary during the concert I was a little sad that these people have most likely never attended a service at the church. They have no idea who we are...and I wanted them to be a part of my church. My other sound tech commented all the theatre and music groups he is involved with in our area and that he didn't know a soul in the whole peace choir. It struck me that we can all operate in such different circles in such a small space in this little valley. And yet, it always seems like everyone in related in this area...that's why you have to be so careful in business...a bad reputation travels fast here. But, then there's Lithia Motors who has a terrible reputation here and yet they just keep growing across the Pacific Northwest.

Sunday my DH played bells at church, I ran sound for 1.5 services and we all collapsed when we got home from church. Late nights and early mornings. By SUnday night we were too tired to make dinner so on a whim we took off for the church potluck honoring the education volunteers. Is it bad form to take a cake that is already cut into? I make a pretty good yellow cake with thick chocolate frosting on Friday night so it was easy to unload it at the potluck. Thanks to Literygirl for the idea abot the cake a while back. Ever since I read that on her blog I couldn't get it out of my mind.

So we're just taking it easy today. I had contractions all weekend so I put off all the dishes until today. I've already run the dishwasher this morning and I can see how I might need to run it again by this afternoon to get everything done. Does that ever happen to you? Am I the only one who sees paper plate purchases as a lovely gesture to myself so I don't have to do as many dishes? I know it is wasteful, but so is all that clean water and dish soap.

Have a lovely day everyone! I hope your May is shaping up as nicely as ours!

Just got finished running my dishwasher for the second time today. Can't tell me a package of paper plates wouldn't be cheaper and more environmentally friendly!

What literarygirl post are you talking about?

It is easy to present an already cut into cake if you cut it all up and put it on a plate in a new presentation.

Or is that what literarygirl already mentioned?
