A Very Good Day
My husband is away again and that is a very hard time for me. Although, this time I've been praying a lot and it has gone well. Today we had a red letter day. We went for a drive to my hometown and when in the local coffee shop (for me, not for my girl) I ran into a gal I knew in junior high. It was a real shock to see the gal who was known to sleep with anyone, who was obnoxious, who was loud and lewd and who was slated to be pregnant before graduation. Well, she met Jesus and she is a NEW WOMAN. Wow. I tell you she was so different I almost fell over. So she gave me her business card and asked me to call her to get together. Now I hardly remember her outside of PE class and she seemed like we were old friends. It makes we wonder if I behaved well around her in junior high. Well enough that she has good memories of me. You know, I was a lot nicer back then.
Then we went to my sister in law's house to hang out since a lot of the rest of the family was there. Everyone was outside so I let my girl run around and dig in the dirt and get some wiggles out. It was really nice to have the conversation with the grown ups and see my girl so happy. Then we went home, ate lunch and we both had some nigh nigh time (nap). Then we got up, I pulled a few weeds outside while my girl ran around our yard and then it was time to meet some friends for dinner. After our really good early dinner, I went back to the sister in laws to get some social time in and we stayed for 2 hours. My girl ran around and played with her cousins and she tried all sorts of new things. She got in one of those little Tykes cars that you power with your feet Flintstones style and she was in heaven. If I can find the cable for the phone I'll post the picture later. Then when we came home, very dirty and tired my hubby called and said some very nice things over the phone. My girl went to sleep without crying, the Internet connection came back up and I finally remembered what the smell on my daughter was. It was the scent of her very first suntan.
It smelled like heaven to me.
