TV Diet
We gave up daytime television. I realized a few weeks ago our little family was watching too much television. I've heard the study about the link betweek autism and television and I knew it was time to pull the plug. So we went cold turkey and there is no television allowed for anyone between the time we wake up and the time my daughter goes to bed.
The first day I just about went crazy with boredom. I was aghast at how dependant I had become! So my next step was to make a daily schedule that limits my Internet use as well. I was using that too much as well. So that's why you haven't seen too much posting as of late. Has it helped you ask?
YOU BET! We've done more dishes, more housework, more activities in the last 10 days then we've done for some time. So I think it has been a fabulous change.
So we didn't give it up for lent exactly, but it has served the same purpose. I encourage you to think about something that sucks up your life and see if you can live without it for a while.
