Ahem. I Really Do Post.

So we've been awfully busy these past few days. I made a cake for my SIL's bday and I tried fondant for the first time. I got a huge compliment when she showed the cake to her sister and she asked, "Where is that from?" meaning she wanted to know what store it was from. Later she told me she thought to herself, "Who would spend such a ridiculous amount of money for a Martha Stewart cake via mail order with dry ice and all that? How ridiculous." It looked good, but the cake was dry but the lemon curd was really good.

I could not have asked for a better compliment. Then I managed to get really sick after I ate stroganoff that had mushrooms in it. I thought I picked out all the mushrooms, but apparently my allergy to them is getting worse. I was sick as a dog for about two hours. My husband had to lock my daughter and I into our master bedroom while he ran to the store to pick something up. Thankfully I had cleaned like a maniac that morning and the whole room was pretty clean. Clean enough she could walk around and explore while I was stuck in the bathroom. Since she has figured out how to open our doors, we had to lock the bedroom door to keep her in. It sounds crazy, but it was necessary and she basically just played with the bathroom scale and watched Lawrence Welk on PBS while her dad was at the store. So the message is: No more mushrooms ever. Not even if they are picked out of the dish. I can't even think about mushrooms now. Yuck.

Which brings me to my next topic: Food allergies. Is anyone else developing these as they pass 30? At this point here is the list of what I cannot eat: Dairy (except a small amount of 1/2 n 1/2 or hard cheddar) Broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, beans and anything with a high fat content. What is the deal? Seriously. I take enzymes to help me break down beans, but broccoli still gets me even then. Who decided THIS? Goodness gracious. Ok, enough of that topic before we get to over sharing...

Welcome to my world, sistah. I don't understand why our hormones effect us like that. I do know that certain food are easier to eat if they are organic, especially milk and cheese. But, we are not sitting high on the hog and can't do all organic as I would like to do. I just eat less of certain things. Love the cake. It is very, very, very cute. I think that I might have to try making one for fun. Luv u.
