Diet Admission
As I started this new Beth Moore bible study called "Believing God" I sensed that something was afoot in my spiritual life. I couldn't put a finger on it, or name it, or even define it with any certainty. I just knew I was about to change. I am happy to say that 14 pounds lighter I know what it is: God decided that now is the time to show me how to become healthy. It sounds weird that all I am doing is counting calories and trying to keep them around 1600 a day and I am down 14 pounds. I am currently wearing my "I dated my husband in these" jeans and man does it feel good. Isn't that a small step, just counting calories? But it really makes me think about what I eat, and I have to ask myself: Do I want 2 cookies for 160 cal, or do I want an apple instead? Most days I choose the apple because I am hungry and I know those cookies won't last but an hour and I'll be back where I was.
Anyway, I recently wrote to Barbara Curtis who blogs on MommyLife. She is a HUGE thinker and was formerly huge in size. She embarked on a changed lifestyle last February and has lost over 65 pounds. What is most fascinating is her change of heart and mind about her life as a fat woman. In my letter I told her a few thoughts I had about weight loss and how I think about myself. She posted the letter on her site and I thought you might want to see it. It is here at MommyLife.
Enjoy, I am going to find some more water.
