The night before Easter & other thoughts
And all day the baby has been a pill! Goodness gracious. I have no idea what it wrong with her. Is it trouble pooping? Trouble teething? Trouble tooting? (Tooting was my Mother's polite word for passing gas.)
I got a shower. Finally.
So my DH started the floor trim installation in the living room. It looks pretty good already and after it has been caulked and touched up we will officially have one "grown-up" room in our whole house. *Sigh* It only took us three years to get to this point. Goodness gracious.
So tomorrow is Easter. I heard on NPR that Handel debuted "The Messiah" on Easter. Doesn't that seem fitting?
It seems like a weight is on me right now. I think DH feels it too. I think we're supposed to feel this way in light of the Risen Savior tomorrow.
So I picked up some cool things for Easter baskets. Just small stuff, under $5 each to make small tokens of Easter like my Mom used to. I got a really cool vegetable steamer as the basket for Dh, and I just found it broken in the bag. No wonder it was on sale. So he gets the pretty pink bunny basket instead. The baby gets two sippy cups. Maybe she will stop lunging towards my water glass as I drink from it from now on. Funny thing is I specifically told DH three days ago that I got small things for his Easter basket and to keep mine under $5 (as a polite reminder). Tonight after dessert he leaned over and apologetically said "I was going to go to the store today and get you things for your Easter basket but I got busy and I didn't have time."
"That's ok." I answered, "I bought the stuff for my basket too."
Sometimes being a mom means you have to remember everybody.
Including yourself.
*Sigh*
